Brussels is hosting the final stop of the Diamond League season this weekend, with the King Baudouin Stadium staging two nights of finals across all 32 events on the circuit's calendar.
This year's meeting, the Allianz Memorial Van Damme, marks its 50th edition and is serving as the season ending Diamond League Final, meaning every event decided in Brussels crowns that discipline's champion for the year. Winners take home the Diamond Trophy and, more significantly, a place at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, an event built around a 10 million dollar prize pot.
Hunt chases a medal in both sprints
Britain's Amy Hunt, fresh off becoming the first woman to win four gold medals at a single European Championships in Birmingham, is the only athlete in the field doubling up in both the women's 100m and 200m. She finished third in Friday's 200m final in a season's best of 22.16 seconds, behind Olympic champion Julien Alfred, as the meeting's opening night got under way.
Saturday's programme carries much of the remaining star power. Pole vaulter Mondo Duplantis headlines against Emmanouil Karalis, while Britain's Georgia Hunter Bell, coming off a breakthrough season, and Ben Pattison feature in the women's 1500m and men's 800m respectively. Alison dos Santos in the 400m hurdles, Masai Russell in the 100m hurdles, and Audrey Werro and Emmanuel Wanyonyi in the 800m are among the other headline names competing for the last Diamond Trophies of the year.
